The licence number — 02729, or just 2729 — or a surname.
What comes back
One record: the name as the Board holds it, the status in plain words, the licence number, where the Board writes to them, when the licence was first issued and when it renews. Where the Board has published an order about someone, the record links to that order — the document itself, not our description of it.
All 51,317 records are loaded, not only the 25,984 in practice. A lapsed licence comes back as lapsed, with its last expiry date.
Nothing is searched on our servers: the index is a set of static files and the lookup runs in your browser. That is why a result has no address of its own, and why an individual record cannot be indexed or linked to as a profile.
What this register cannot tell you
It holds Washington credentials only. Someone practising here may be licensed by another state and working under practice privileges; this file knows nothing about them, and a blank is not a finding.
Firms are searchable too — 2,356 CPA firm registrations sit in the same box, and a firm result says so plainly. The two registers are separate and do not join: no column links a firm to the people licensed at it, and their numbers run in different sequences, so one number can return both. How firm registration differs from a personal licence.
